Grupo Jumex runs for Food Safety

On June 7, 2025, Grupo Jumex joined for the second consecutive year the activities organized by the National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality (SENASICA) within the framework of World Food Safety Day. On this occasion, Grupo Jumex participated by donating a hydration point to support runners and promote a very clear message: Food Safety involves all of us!

Why is it important to talk about safety? Because microbiological and chemical risks in food are not visible to the naked eye, but they can affect our health. According to the World Health Organization, every year foodborne illnesses affect more than 600 million people worldwide. The good news: these risks can be prevented with good practices along the entire food chain, from the field to the table.

This commitment to safety does not end in the race: it is part of an ongoing collaboration between Grupo Jumex and SENASICA to train fruit producers, accompany collection centers and strengthen traceability and security throughout our supply chain.

Since 2023, this strategic alliance has focused on:

• Train mango, orange, apple and guava producers with Good Agricultural Practices and Contamination Risk Reduction Systems (SRRC)
• Supporting collection centers in the implementation of safety and traceability standards

Thanks to this joint effort, more and more producers and suppliers of Grupo Jumex are moving towards certifications that guarantee safer and better quality fruits for the preparation of our juices.

Thus, while the runners crossed the finish line on June 7, something bigger was also being celebrated: the strengthening of a culture of safety in food production in Mexico. And at Grupo Jumex, we will continue to run and collaborate for it.
